CHURCH STATEMENTS and ACTIONS

A number of Church bodies and councils have made pronouncements that denounce and repent of the sin of destroying the earth (see Revelation 11:18) and call for responsible advocacy for God's creation.

The primary goal of Christians For The Mountains is to alert Christians and their churches to the rapid destruction of the southern Appalachians and to urge them to biblically and theologically deliberate on this plight toward taking responsible and effective action.

Christians For The Mountains thanks those church bodies that are already taking a stand of advocacy for the southern Appalachians.

This page will list statements that relate to the Appalachian region as well as to the national and global arenas. Please note that justice for human communities and justice for the earth are integrally interconnected.
