"A Picture is worth a thousand words" goes a well-known saying. To see with one's eyes the beauty of God's creation, or conversely to see the wreakage of sinful humanity upon creation is an experience that penetrates to the core a sensitive heart.

While seeing something in person is always the preferrable, we all rely on photos, paintings, and descriptions to renew our memories, instruct us, and stir us to action.

We solicit your contributions of photos!!! As a network Christians For The Mountains will be sharing pictures with lots of other organizations. Please contact us for permission if you will be disseminating our pictures on the Internet or for publication.

We especially are interested in photos that extoll the wonder and beauty and scenery of the Appalachian region (including its people), pictures of the devastation of mountaintop removal extraction and other egregious assaults on God's creation, and shots of people acvocating for healing, restoration, and justice for the Appalachian region.

We endorse as excellent resources on mountaintop removal the extensive photo galleries of organizations such as the following:

Ohio Valley Environmental Coalition
Coal River Mountain Watch
Appalachian Voices
The Coalfield Communities of Southern West Virginia

Gail Gillis provides an excellent Powerpoint from the Heartwoods 2006 Conference in May. Excellent photos and captions.
